Garlic rice also called as garlic fried rice or Sinangag is garlic-flavored rice usually made with leftover cooked rice. Garlic rice is rarely eaten by itself and usually paired with a meat dish and scrambled or fried egg. In the Philippines, garlic rice is a common part of traditional breakfast. It is very easy and quickly we can make garlic rice using leftover cooked rice and reduce waste. This recipe will guide you to make some delicious garlic rice or a Sinangag just in 10 minutes.

Special notes

  • You can use parsley leaves or scallion instead of celery
  • You can use garlic fried coconut oil later when making fried rice to add some garlic flavor to the dish.

Ingredients

 3 cups Rice
 3 qts Egg
 5 qts Garlic (Chopped)
 5 qts Garlic (Sliced)
 Coconut oil
 1 tbsp Soya sauce
 1 tbsp Butter
 Salt
 Celery

Directions

Heat some coconut oil in a pan on low heat.

Add sliced garlic and fry until it turns into golden brown color.

Take out fried garlic slices and place in a strainer to strain extra oil.

Then fry the chopped garlic in the same oil until garlic turns into golden brown color.

Strain the oil into a bowl.

Leave the fried chopped garlic in the strainer to strain extra oil.

Heat 2Tbsp of garlic fried oil into the pan

Add eggs and salt to suit your taste.

Scramble the eggs until all the eggs are torn into small pieces.

When the eggs are almost cooked, add cooked rice and mix well.

Add soya sauce and some salt to suit our taste, mix well.

Turn off the cooker and add fried chopped and sliced garlic and celery leaves, mix well.
