Ginger beer is usually a carbonated ginger-flavored soft drink. There is alcoholic and non-alcoholic ginger beer. Mostly in Sri Lanka, we usually use non-alcoholic ginger beer. Ginger beer is very famous among Sri Lankans. A lot of people thinks the process of making ginger beer is very complicated. But we can make the ginger beer very easily at home. This recipe will guide you to make ginger beer at your own kitchen. You can even serve some for your guests on warm days.

Ingredients

 100 g Ginger (Sliced)
 100 g Sugar
 ½ cup Water
 Carbonated water
 1 tbsp Lime extract

Directions

Add sliced ginger and water to a blender and blend until it becomes a thick paste.

Strain the extract to a bowl.

Blend ginger pulp again adding a little bit of water.

Strain again.

Add sugar to the ginger extract and mix well.

Boil the ginger mixture until the sugar melts.

Leave it aside to cool.

Add lime extract and strain again.

Refrigerate the mixture until you want to use.

When serving, pour the mixture 1/4th of the serving glass, and pour the carbonated water until the glass filled.
